AT&T’s HTC Tilt (8925) shows it personality
If there was any doubt in your minds whatsoever, this should alleviate that. Paul from MoDaCo tell us that both the AT&T and HTC Kaiser, Tilt, 8925 (or whatever you want to call it) ROMs are now finalized and the device should be ready to go. They’ve got a whole slew of screenshots right from the device, and boy does it look good!
On another note, one of our HTC contacts has informed us that AT&T will actually be the first to get the device, instead of HTC distributing their version to resellers first. AT&T, we love you, you are killing it!
Thanks, The Nerd!

Great what will the cost be?? Any good information on that or is it still hush.

Cost from AT&T is rumored to be $499 with 2-year contract. Last I heard, the AT&T release is set for Sept. 3 (Labor Day).
I’ve seen online resellers taking pre-orders for unlocked Kaiser 120s (both cameras) at prices ranging from $800 to $1000.

Does anyone know if BB connect will be supported with this device?

I have heard that the 8925 will also have a front facing camera. Any more info on that?

This looks like a really good phone. Only one that made me THINK about getting rid of iPhone but im just sick of updates. Wonder what the battery life is going to be on that puppy…

I am unsure what to do… The Samsung I760 looks mighty nice, and my Verizon contract is up in a few months…
But I want to switch to at&t. Tough decision.

Yeah, definitely a tough decision. Personally, I don’t trust Samsung PDA’s the least bit. Ever since the i730, all the keyboards have been horrible, and you can’t type fast. Not that you physically can’t, just that the phone can’t handle it. The HTC Tilt has set the bar so high for me that if you can afford the means to get it, that’s the device for you then.

Hmmm…TMO Curve, or switch and to AT&T and get the Kaiser? I would love to stick with TMO (plans are much cheaper than AT&T)

@Eddie
I’m in the same boat. Do I get the Curve and buy eoffice and a gps puck or get the kaiser? 3G is supposed to be in my area by october/november according to at&t people. I just don’t know if the kaiser is worth $20 a month more.

jcray,
In some aspects im looking forward to giving WM6 a shot. I didnt care for it before because of the lack of push e-mail, but now that it has that, plus HTC threw in all the bells and whistles (wi-fi, gps, 3.2 mp camera)….makes it hard to say no to this sexy lil broad!

I want this, and that’s it. lol. I don’t know how I’ll come up on one but I got to. I love my 8525, but I gotta get this.

Does anyone know if this AT&T version will support Video Share?? Any why unlock this for TMO?? I mean TMO has 1700Mz for UTMS…not 1900/850 for it. Also checked with them and so far no roaming agreements for 3G here in the US.

Yes BB Connect is on the device.

I am new to the cellular world so please excuse if this sounds silly.
Can some one answer me this? What kind of data service quality would I get on t mobile with this phone? I know they are not 3g but they do have GPRS
I have pre ordered one unlocked and like t mobile call quality here in the bay area(they provide my work cell) and as some one here pointed out, their prices are so much better.
Thanks in advance.

Well…I know what will replace my Blackjack…

pretty sure it still has the vga video camera on the face and the full camera on the back. vga is for video conferencing. Unlock will work for Tmo but not the 3G that is has built-in, different frequency than tmo.
I have been looking at getting this since i saw the first stories on here, and it has yet to disappoint. BG, you might have just sold me on it, are you going to drop your iphone for this?

Does this mean Jeff B. won’t post “Kaiser….” on every post? I for one, am going to miss that.
BG,
Good to know, I haven’t much experience with Sammy phones but the 3125 and 8525 I spent time with were extremely nice. The guy who owned it had to beg for it back. It’s hard resist the HTC lure.

Damn, this looks hot! Too bad though the Tilt is so large. I really like the Blackjack for it’s size. I just wish the BJ had Wifi like it’s European Twin….

So how do I get that Instant Messaging app that shows on the Today Screen for my 8525 or my Treo 750?
