Verizon’s new Motorola Q9m

It’s the one, two punch folks. First T-Mobile, and now Verizon. It’s like clockwork. We all knew this one was in the pipeline, but it’s always nice to get some official confirmation. Verizon’s version of the Motorola Q9 is pretty much par for the Q-course by now. Designated the Q9m, this baby sports Ev-DO with Verizon Broadband Access support, 128 MB/64 MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, an external miniSD slot and a 1.3 megapixel shooter, all running atop Windows Mobile 6 standard. Looks pretty slick, and we love the keyboard! That said, it’s definitelyan update to the aging Q, so if you liked the original, this one is certainly worth a second look. Full product shot after the jump.

Thanks, Omie!

so they downgraded the RAM and ROM of the CDMA version? Boo… glad i’m GSM.

    from to phonescoop’s 3gsm ‘07 coverage of the q9:
“Moving to the innards, the memory has also been boosted. In fact, the Q9 has industry-leading memory specs for a mainstream Windows Mobile device: 256 MB flash memory for storage (expandable via microSD) and a whopping 96 MB of RAM for running many applications at once (64 is standard).”

this looks just like an 88xx keyboard and form factor. only it loses a little with all the black on black. man downgraded for CDMA, thats like kicking a man when he’s down, takes longer to get them and then they downgrade them. and thats before VZ does their own magic on it.

Actually the Q9(h) GSM version has 256MB ROM 96MB RAM and the Q9m CDMA has 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM or simply put the original Q in a new wrapper with an OS update. Oh wait that update should have been FREE on the original Q.

Its funny you guys think that they downgraded it the hardware. It’s simply a new case design with some updated hardware. Its looks like a really nice improvement over the original Q, but its not really a CDMA version of the Q9h. Just a case similarity.
