Vodafone does Wi-MAX
Wi-MAX appears to be gaining momentum quite nicely. The emerging 4th generation technology is garnering support from around the world now. While this doesn’t mean much in terms of specific details, we can surmise that a network launch is growing at least marginally closer. Interesting here, is that Vodafone already has a ton of money and assets invested in existing 3G technology. By signing on to work on the next-gen protocol, they are essentially moving towards self-obsolescence. Good for progress, and ultimately inevitable, but somewhat unexpected nonetheless. The company has made no concrete plans, but their move to join the Wi-MAX forum is an undeniable step towards adoption and implementation.

Good choice but it looks like nobody really cares. Especially since Vodafone isn’t a U.S bound company.
notice how sprint was the first carrier to impliment this tech. now voda phon is trying to say this to keep people ffrom switching the wanted verizon to impliment this in the states to try to compete with sprint an no verizon is not a 3g net evdo rev a is 2.5g now if only vodaphone could foce verizon to use GSM an sim cads an stop locking down ther hardware. they would not detract subscibers

Vodafone does own a good percentage of Verizon Wireless. :-/
