Despite our relative ambivalence towards Palm’s upcoming Foleo, we imagine that someone must be interested in the damn thing. Today Palm, during a presentation to the LinuxWorld conference, revealed some details about the product, and we can’t say it raised our level of enthusiasm. The machine runs on a 416 MHz Intel/Marvell PXA27x processor and sports a Marathon 2700G graphics card. The Foleo will have 256MB of non-volatile flash memory, and 128MB of RAM for general application use. A CompactFlash slot will allow for increased storage to the tune of 4GB, and an SD slot provides for even more memory card capacity. Why not just build a bit more into the box? Who knows…Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are standard fare, and a USB port will allow you to connect peripherals including external hard drives that conform to the mass storage profile. No one knows exactly when the thing will drop, but we’re guessing sometime around the end of August or early September. Anyone still awake?
