Apple handling iPhone touchscreen issues better than the Russian mob

A small number of iPhone screens appear to be developing some touchscreen issues. "Select" handsets seem to be experiencing a rather large-scale failure of all or part of the device’s touch screen. So sad. The good news, however, is that Apple appears to be handling the situation in a very proactive manner. The company has been monitoring several support forums and, in some cases, has called affected (and particularly vocal) forum users before the users themselves had initiated a trouble ticket. That’s some damn good service. Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the issue, but support personnel seem to be very familiar with the problem, and customers are having no trouble getting replacement units. Device issues suck, but it’s always nice to see a company handle their troubles in a responsible manner.

sounds good, I have never had anything but good results when dealing with applecare. Very nice and knowledgeable people and very quick turnaround on repaired / replaced products.

2 situations only though, 2 work imacs needed new hard drives, failures.

I lost the bottom half of the screen. The top two rows of icons work fine, but forget about the rest. Couldn’t unlock the phone or answer calls. Dropped it at the Apple store and 7 days later, I’m rocking a new one. Turn around time seems a bit long and the phone support team was less than helpful in tracking things, but I’m back in business.

iHateApple: read it again. Maybe then you’ll understand what Jeff B was saying.

Something about “customers are god”, since at&t is 2nd to last. Only Sprint is worse.

But then again, Apple is like Sony and will dump you on your ass once they obsolete what you have in a year or so.
