Verizon’s fall lineup?
Whoa. Either we’ve just hit the Verizon motherload, or someone has orchestrated an elaborate hoax. We sincerely hope that it’s the former. A Verizon employee has apparently leaked the company’s upcoming product launch road map, and the document contains details aplenty about a number of upcoming Verizon handsets and launch dates. Check out the rundown below:
- 8/20 Moto Q9m
- 8/15 VZW XV6800
- 8/16 Verizon "8905"
- 9/2 Green enV
- 9/4 Verizon "Coupe"
Keen eyes will have noticed the two mystery handsets, the 8905 and the "Coupe". A big round of applause to anyone who can clue us in on what exactly these things are. Confusion aside, it looks the the big V is finally gearing up to reinforce their anemic PPC and Smartphone offerings, with the Q9 and XV6800, a.k.a. HTC Mogul bringing some much needed relief. This is a conundrum…
If this is true, do I go for the XV6800 as I originally had planned before I got to play with an iPhone? Or do I tough it out until iPhone 2.0 w/ 3G?

Looking at the list a bit closer, I thought VZW launched on Teusdays or Thursdays, I forget which one.
Some of these launch dates are on Sundays and Wed???
They are very consistent with the launch dates always being the same day of the week, as this is when the brick stores get deliveries, and I have a hard time believing they have changed the way they do a new product launch, as we all know how ananl VZW can be.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
The stores have gone to Sunday launches primarily because of the refresh, in some of the phones cass you need to reset almost 100% of the store, instead of coming in at 5 AM and doing that, when the store opens at noon you have more time instead of 10 AM.
also the shipments ome on fridays/tuesdays, and Saturdays are WAY to busy to do refreshes on, so the phone launches get pushed back to Sundays and wednesdays. I don’t know why they did it, but it is 100% real, as is this chart.
latest word on the new Treo for Verizon (750?..755?…800?)? Getting new one from Verizon in next two weeks (corp phone). Want the latest version and would wait a week to get it.
Actually it does show a Blackberry 8130,supposedly a Pearl according to rumors. Its
listed on the spreadsheet.
Also in the spreashseet is a Samsung Gleam u700, supposedly similar to the LG Shine, hence the name ‘Gleam’.

the pearl2 is the next big BB on the horizon, although the curve has been offered in Wifi, no clue if they have optioned for it yet. I know att was trying to get an exclusive with RIM for the curve wifi, so who knows. the BB pearl due out in the holiday season will have wifi though, and it looks GOOD in my hands now
There is plenty of other spreasheets with other devices. I’ve played with the i760 and have pictures of the dummy units in store. I also have other info not posted here.

Verizon stills sucks. I mean c’mon you can’t beat cingulatt’s smartphone/pda lineup.
I am a VZW customer and because of the reliability and strong network I will always be. However, I used the I phone last week (one of my employees got it) and despite the fact that it does not have wireless sync it is certainly far and away the best most innovative phone out there. What does VZW have coming out that will compete with it. Lets be honest here, the Q, Treo’, BB (at least the ones VZW has) are all tired. What is coming up that is worth the wait?

well i went in to the crappy at&t store and they have 2 or 3 of each terrible phone and most of them couldnt turn on…lol… they have almost 5 pda’s….
