Apple officially anounces new iMacs, iLife and revamped .Mac service

Fellow Apple fanboys rejoice — our leader has just announced a plethora of new goodies and the best part, you ask? Well, most of them are available now. That’s right, guys. We’ve got brand new iMacs which are available today, along with a brand new iLife, and a revamped .Mac service! The new iMacs sport Core 2 Duo processors up to 2.4GHz, up to a TB of hard drive space, 3 USB ports, 1 FireWire 400 port, and FireWire 800 port. The 20′ iMac has now replaced the 17′ iMac and pricing will start at $1199 for the base 20" model, and level off at $1,799 for the 24" one. Now, who wants to run down to the Apple store and pick me up a copy of iLife ‘08?

BG, how about the broken iphone. I’m checking in daily to see whats happening to it.

The iMac looks great now it makes me want to see the laptops when they get updated. I like the black frame around the screen, looks sharp. Also I dont think the prices are too bad either.

Sorry, but they’re still too expensive. There really needs to be a sub-grand mac, and the mini doesn’t count.

Gal if you want the higher processors look at their traditional desktops Mac Pro -Mac Pro 4-Core
    (2 Dual-Core 3GHZ Intel Xeon).

If you price out any comparable desktop from Dell or anyone like that you will be in the ballpark then take into account its all built into the lcd case. And you of course get OSX.

Fred, if you want a bargain PC then Apple is not going to be for you. -including macmini, which is a good computer if your not into gaming / media editing.

Love the new design but just to cosign others apple prices always trend higher, but I must say my new macbook pro is built way better than my lenovo t60p. Now we just need an ipod refresh with osx and multitouch widescreen

I’m actually not caring for the new iMac. The design just seems a bit off.

I particularly don’t like the new keyboard.

Oh well, can’t win them all.
