Motorola RAZR 2, Motorola Q9, BlackBerry 8820…AT&T launch dates?

File this one under unconfirmed rumors, but we got a nice tip this morning that included the Motorola RAZR 2, Motorola Q9, BlackBerry 8820 (again), Pantech C810, and the AT&T SMT5700. According to this anonymous tipster, we’ve got the Motorola Q9, and the Motorola RAZR 2 V9 pegged for an August 24th release. Same day action, baby! The Pantech C810, a rumored WCDMA device,  is looking like it will see the light on September 9th. What about the BlackBerry 8820? Well, "expect" that to lauch on August 13th or 14th, and the SMT5700 to follow on August 24th, or August 28th. Who’s happy if these launch dates stick?

UPDATE: The 5700 as pointed out below, should actually be the AT&T SMT5700 QWERTY device.

    If you look at the list of phones in that detail I found and the interesting item is the dates range from 8/19- 9/15 so its somewhere in there.

    The price guide is for a 30 day window, it doesn’t mean the Q9 will come out that late, its just a range. Hopefully it will be out very soon because I want to beat my billing cycle at Verizon.

    What happened to Black Berry 8820, most of the sites mentioned it will be released on September 4th, but 4th has come and gone, but ATT is really not opening their mouth on the release date, this is totally sucks! i will need to look for a better alternative, with unlocked BB8820

    Spoke to an AT&T rep today, they stated the Q9 will not be launched for September and the new Launch date is early October

    These reps are as reliable as a member of congress. I have seen, read and heard that September 21-25 is the window.

    The Moto Q9h aka Moto Q9 Global is now known as a the MOTO Q™ Global. This Q phone is officially listed on AT&T’s business section as “Coming Soon”. See the link below.

    So I don’t believe its October or they wouldn’t bother with announcing it on the business page this week.

    Lifesavers!
    I’ve searched on the internet and can’t come up with an answer. I really want to buy a (T-mobile) Dash and I am an AT&T customer. On eBay they sell them unlocked and the sellers say they work on AT&T. But my question is, do I have to buy a data plan? I would just use the internet and all the other cool stuff when I connect using WiFi, not any other time. So, do I have to buy a data plan just to get on WiFi? Thanks!

    @Stumped.

    Yes and no. I have an unlocked T-Mo Dash I got from eBay and the phone does work but the whole data package has been crippled. According to AT&T rep, even though the phone is *technically* unlocked, there isn’t much that can be done for the way T-Mo set up Windows Mobile 6 for use specific to that phone on their network.

    I was able to connect to WiFi once after considerable effort but not since. I keep getting an error message that the connection has been terminated by host.

    Everything else works great but they cannot even get MediaNet or XMail to work on the phone to push e-mail.

    My theory (and it is just my theory) is that carriers take Windows Mobile through some serious hoops that end up limiting the functionality of what should be there. Things are stripped out of it (WM) that can not be put back with an unlock code. Just my opinion.

    My lesson, if you are going to buy an unlocked phone, get one straight from the manufacturer that HASN’T been through the carrier shenanigans. You’ll end up paying more, but at least you’ll know what you are buying will work pretty much as advertised as opposed to the secret “homebrew” carriers do.

    Mr. Walker- Thank you so much for your advice/information. I appreciate it very much and will look into purchasing it directly from the manufacturer.
    Thanks Again,
