At&t doesn't consider you as paying for tethering privilages unless you have a special package. In other words, they aren't getting their monthly payment. If you fail to pay, they will cease your service. They have plenty of corporate users who pay 70 dollars a month just so they can tether their PDA/Cellphone to their laptop. You fail to see the point.
