Worldwide Data revenue goes through the roof

Not literally, but you get the idea. Worldwide revenue from wireless data charges (excluding revenue from SMS) exceeded $10 billion last quarter, settling at the comfortable sum of $11.3 billion! This is a remarkable increase from the same period one year ago, during which non-SMS data charges accounted for a paltry $8.1 billion. Not to be left out of the part, SMS traffic rose by 50% this past quarter as well, grabbing a solid 23% increase in global revenue. All told, data revenue (including SMS charges) pulled in an earth shattering $34.3 billion worldwide. Yikes!
