Spoke to T-Mobile about a few upcomings. I am told that within the months of August and September, T-Mobile will be unrolling a plethora of phones compatible with @Home service, including smartphone handhelds.

I do not doubt that this, or if a rumored 8320 comes to fruition, it will be on their roster by October.

the iphone crowd is so hostile because they are getting attacks from people for things that are personal preference. Galvatron brought the iphone into this post and as he usually does, his repsonses are neither readable or coherent.

My 8800 does very well for me but the browsers suck for BB and the increased speed of wifi to me sounds like a waste. If and when i want a good phone to browse on it will not be a BB. Thats unless they offer a bigger screen and much much better browser.

I won the contest for tmobile at home, so I have been walking around with two devices. A blackberry with gps and wifi would save my life. Any word on a tmobile release? By the way @home rocks. All calls at home and work (wifi network) are free and crisp!

Why is the iphone crowd so hostile? I think the Iphone is great for what it does, but for me, email is the life blood of my business, so the blackberry getting wifi is really a big deal. I can buy all the workers a bb- with wifi, and get 3 routers and reduce my cost of operating by a couple of 100 a year while getting unlimited nation wide calling.

If the iphone v2 got wifi or something else to make it better I would be happy for you guys too. Can you do the same?

So yea my daddys d*** is bigger than your daddys, and also what other phone do you know of that can be updated with firmware as QUICKLY and EASILY as the iPhone. Ive had plenty of phones from Windows Mobiles, to Blackberrys, to flips and candybars and everything in between. So when I make a comment, best believe I know EXACTLY what im talking about. So maybe you should read ALL the comments thoroughly before opening your mouth. Its not about I HATE blackberrys, I’ve had the 8700c, 8800c, and 8300 and I loved them WHEN there was no iPhone available. But now I SEE what type of experience I can have browsing the web even IF its on EDGE, and quite frankly, im just not that impressed with a WiFiberry

The post was specifically geared towards blackberry users. Why must you champion the iphone cause on a post that has nothing to do with your phone? Blatent insecurity?

Stop being a kid with your “my daddy can beat yours up” rant. Really, its unbecomming.

And the “it can be updated through firmware” response is tired. The logic behind purchasing a phone that “will be updated at a later date” is beyond me but hey whatever floats your boat.

Its upsetting that tmo won’t get this until 5,000 years later. They’re becomming as slow to obtain new models as the cdsm carriers. Pity.

@ejay…regarding the 32g, it sure beats the 4g/8g that the iphone is limited to…or the security issues or the inability to be bluetoothed data from other phones, or lack of push email, the crappy camera that doesn’t let you zoom, or, or, or…

Face it no phone is perfect and in spite of your 600 expense yours isn’t immune from imperfections.

Sure we could argue points from the mainstream consumer that relies on a phone for fun and those that use theirs primarily for business. Who cares?

Be a hippie. You like your phone and blackberry users like theirs. The end.

Funny thing is, at&t will get the first WiFiBerry before T-Mobile

This is a very interesting turn of events. I was sure the Wi-Fi version would be released on T-Mobile first since they are pushing UMA, but according to the press release; “The BlackBerry 8820 will be available from select wireless carriers around the world in the coming weeks. AT&T is scheduled to launch the BlackBerry 8820 in the U.S. later this summer.” There is NO mention of T-Mobile. Maybe there’s a chance T-Mobile will still get the 8320!

What I don’t understand…

I sure hope that RIM provides a better browser with the 8820. The devices may be great email devices, but surfing the web leaves a lot to be desired (and it’s not due to the speed of the networks). Nothing sucks more that visiting web sites, and have the content look like total crap.

… otherwise, what benefit is there to adding wi-fi? UMA? Gimme a break… only geeks and freaks will use that, until the major carriers can understand the value.

Great news for anyone who wants WiFi, if you live in the UK, that is!!

Could the carriers in the U.S. and Canada have anything to do with this?
In any case it’s great that RIM have launched this model.

I guess those of us in the U.S. and Canada will just have to be “patient and wait.”
