I don’t understand the handset requirement. Is the customer just making a regular phone call to their favorite 5 people? or does myfaves require some application on the phone that does something different than a normal phone call?

I am a tmobile user and was not aware that tmobile is considered a budget cell phone provider. Whatever…if budget means I can save money and get the same reception and better customer service, then budget it shall be.

Also I was not aware that MyFaves is a ‘niche’ thing. I love it. If you are a teenager or super business user you probably talk to more than 5 people regularly. Thats not me…I talk to the same 4 people most of the time and the extra number is a home number of one of my top 4. I love the service. I never think about how many minutes I have used, or whether its night/daytime, when the call started etc. And my bill is consistently $50 less than my AT&T bill.

I agree, it’s not a niche service. It’s actually “myFaves” and it’s a great service with broad consumer appeal.

MyfavesSM which includes sms/mms? If you read the complet article they say nothing about unlimited messaging infact the say the oposit “The phone interface also enables the user to access a straightforward communications menu in just one click for effortless text and multimedia messaging (SMS and MMS, for which separate charges may apply) for the five numbers in their “Fave 5.”

Yeah I agree with victory kindof borring news but hopefully that now unlock phones might support myfaves in the US. I use a tmobile bb8800 with myfaves and a freind of mine couldn’t wait for tmobile 8800 and bought att unlocked 8800 without myfaves interface. Wonder if the iphone released in germany will have myfavesSM

I don’t think it’s fair or accurate to say that this is a niche product. Any soccer mom, code monkey or teenager in the world could use this product and probably be pretty damn happy about it.

Maybe they should switch the name of it to I-Faves or 3G-Faves so that it get some better press in the future.

did you mean the German version will include unlimited messaging to your fave 5 (maybe why the name is MyFavesSM (Short Message?), but the US version does not include messaging as part of the deal.
