WiFi Blackberry approved by the FCC

Yesterday, the FCC put their official stamp and go-ahead on a WiFi Blackberry (pause to let readers rejoice). Though not the biggest surprise in the world, as we all knew it was coming, but what is a touch surprising is that the BB in question, and that was approved, was of the 88XX-series variety, not the 83XX that many have predicted. The handheld was approved for the GSM 850/1900 band in the US, and we all know that RIM has planned a WiFi ‘Berry by the end of the year. The plot thickens…

    Is is suite, I was abroad and the wi-fi was compatible with a, which is very popular utside the US, making it abg compatible. My BB was not setup to roam international so while ATT set me up, the wi-fi connection got the emails, it is very fast, additionally the bb allows to turn each connection independantly, bt, wf and cell/data, so I was able to save on data roamning fees by getting my stuff via wi-fi, which is very common abroad, Rome’s downton is free… In combination with the GPS, I downloaded all big file maps very fast via wi-fi. Nice toy, I trying to make the wi-fi connect with my IPod touc: which dows not have bluetooth, but does do wi-fi. Options, options…
