What is it with Canadian telecom companies and un-inpiring product releases? Companies North of our beloved border seem intent on introducing new technology with as little fanfare as possible. Latest in the list of quiet releases is TELUS’ recent completion of their Rev. A upgrade to their EV-DO network. The wiring portion of the process is complete, with a rumored switch "On" to occur sometime next Monday or Tuesday. Congrats to any EV-DO Rev. A-toting Canadians…you are now free to get your fix.
Thanks Jeff!

A Telus technician told me that they are waiting for Rogers to complete theyre 3G upgrade and tell everyone that they have the fastest network to then get the fanfare out and scoup them with a faster network.

yeah faster network but they still have those Canadian rates. I feel sorry for them because they get so little data for the money.

I work for telus mikeyp is right canadian rates suck and most of our phones but the network has never failed me.and when you work in the corporate stores you get a plan that’s 15 bucks and everything pretty much unlimited.

Rogers had Rolled out HSDPA since November 2006 in most major markets so I dont know what youre talking about when you say your Telus rep said that they are waiting for Rogers to complete their upgrade…for all intents and purposes it was out a very long time ago. and FYI HSDPA is up to 3.6Mpbs where as Rev A goes up to 3.1.. small difference but it definitely does make them the “fastest” network.
