Goodbye, EV-DO…it’s as if we barely knew each other…Verizon has announced that its entire network is now EV-DO Rev. A compliant. This is great news for Verizon data subscribers with EV-DO Rev. A compatible devices such as the V740 data card. More Rev. A phones should be on the horizon. For those that don’t know, EV-DO Rev. A. offers up to 1.4 mbps download speed, blowing its non-Rev A. brethren out of the water. A good look indeed for the Verizon faithful.

Great for verizon, but still won’t make me jump over there.

Sad so many networks doing last minute things to get or keep their customers.

no no no no no NO!
verizon did NOT say their “its entire network is now EV-DO Rev. A compliant”
they said that their entire 1xEVDO network is not Rev-A.
big difference, since they STILL have a majority of their network as 1xRTT aka ‘nationalaccess’, which covers most of USA outside of major populated areas.
yes, the release was written in a deceiving manner.
but don’t be fooled.

Verizon needs to release more popular smart phones. Otherwise, i don’t care whether they have rev b or c. I will leave VZW.

Uh - the Verizon Wireless is not their entire America’s Choice network. They have only voice and 1x data with Alltel but that is the extent of that - not EVDO. So be aware of that.
