Man buys Plasma TV from Wal-Mart for 5 bucks
That floating smiley face must have been drinking right before it knocked recent prices down at a Monroe, LA Wal-Mart. Wait…nope…it was 23-year-old Chandon L. Simms who thought he could simply (and allegedly) put a price tag from a $4.88 item on a $984 plasma TV and run it through self-checkout without anyone noticing. Loss Prevention did, and when questioned, showed officers a receipt from a different purchase for the same model TV and told them that he purchased a TV from the West Monroe store and planned to return that one and keep the one he purchased for only $4.88 from the Monroe store. He was then arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. Missed it by thaaaaaat much.

This is just as funny as the guy that tried to steal the mic/iphone from some one on live TV. To see this look on gizmodo.com sorry for the competitor link.

I mean, at least let’s give him some points for trying.

Yes, three cheers for fraud. . . . This guy is a moron. I was hoping someone benefited from an actual pricing error on the part of Wal-Mart - at which point, I would be in full support of the lucky individual. But this guy is just a common scam artist (and I hesitate to use the word “artist” at all.)
Glad he was caught.
