So, from what I understand, anyone–including existing at&t customers who are ineligible for an updrade–can purchase an iPhone for their 2yr contract price at either $500 or $600 depending on the model. Is this correct? Just looking for some clarification.

This is the news that I have been counting on! Thanks Apple for convincing at&t to the low bundled plan price. Because I know that At&t wouldn’t have voluntarily priced it this way without some major arm twisting! Good job.

leave it to someone to complain about the txt messages.

these plans make the iphone the cheapest pda to own today from ATT. i’m sure you will able to add unl text for a few bucks more.

you are basically getting unlimited web and 200 txt messages for $20 per month. that’s fantastic.

yeah its a little less than my total plan right now with my 8800, and im on the old data plan of 29.99. also you can add more text msgs to the plan, check out the activation video.

wan not thinking of getting one but after the rush i might have to look into it as i think the plans are a good deals.

@Rob Well if you have different contacts, then you have a couple of choices in iTunes you can pick which calendars and which contacts folders to synchronize with your iPod

i think he was just putting up bogus stories to get listed on the other rumor sites. He had no good info on any of the iphone stuff. He needs to stick to the BB and quit being an attention whore on things he has no info on.

you can’t get just a data plan. voice is required under these structure.

Well it said something about 20 for existing customers but nothing after that. So I don’t knoe Scaevola, i think you might need to get the package deal. Also the rates are just the same as any other phone so not to much of a difference from other plans.

During the activation and sync video, you are able to select which contact lists you want to sync over. The settings should be by device.

Rob, that is a good question. Since iTunes is the method, it sounds like you need separate accounts which is going to be a pain. Send a post to the apple support website. They have a category for iPhone.
