HDMI on Non-Elite Xbox 360s?
For those that shelled out the extra dough for an Xbox 360 Elite just for its HDMI capabilities are about to be sad and angry. XMC, which manufactures replacement console cables and cases, is claiming that they now have a cable that will allow HDMI connectivity for older Core and Premium Xbox 360s. Designs are going to be finalized in the next 4 weeks, and expect production to commence soon, rendering the $180-more-expensive Elite box nothing but a fancy black case. Well, and a bigger drive. And to that, we ask the question…how come no one thought of this before now?

You have GOT to be kidding me :/
They must have it from optical in to HDMI cable. Which means no HDMI with the HDDVD player. Unless they have a splitter too but I doubt it.
Anyone else? Thoughts?
im interested, would love to get rid of the mess of cables behind my xbox.
good find mr. kling, although i hate that damn show.
Sweet I can now just buy the upgrades and maybe even a core consul. So my expenses will be even less.
Now aa question if I buy a core and get the new HD should I be upto par with a premium unit?
Look at the picture and check the website of http://www.teamxtender.com which are the makers of this fine product.
It’s going to be made for the Elite and it will not work on the Core/Premium consoles.
It’s merely a retractable HDMI cable, it’s not a converter.
It seems no one reads things these days.
Jeez. Gregory Kling ftl.
The core & pro consoles don’t have any digital encoding hardware. Hence, they can only support analog video devices. The idea that a cable would somehow “add HDMI support” is preposterous and false.
Thanks for the great article. Keep up the good work.
