Unfortunately, Sprint has moved their release date to “sometime in June”. My phone is being held together by duct tape, too. I’ll be switching over to Sprint from ATT. This is lame! My bf just got the Mogul & I’m considering just going with that phone.

OTHER NEWS… I read on another chat that thier “SIMPLY EVERYTHING” plan will no longer be available after 5/31/2008…. conveniently just before the curve is released… hmmmmmmm….

I have been trying to find the Sprint Blackberry Curve 8330. No one seems to know when it is due out. According to Mike, it should have been out on the 17th of April. My phone is broken and I have been waiting on the Curve, but I can not wait much longer. Thanks for any help.

BlackBerry Curve 8330: Features a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, support for memory cards up to 8 GB, stereo Bluetooth, EVDO, and streaming video playback (supports YouTube.) Available in May.
LG enV2: A slimmer version of the enV, with larger external keys and a larger internal display. Key features include a 2 megapixel camera, slot for memory cards up to 8 GB, stereo Bluetooth, and text-to-speech. Available in April.
XV6900: Verizon’s version of the HTC Touch. Available in April.
Motrola Q9c: Similar to the Q9m, but with more business-friendly styling, plus support for location-based services. Available in April.
Samsung Alias: Tweaked version of U740, with silver color and improved keyboard.

I just got off the phone with a Verizon reps names Markus, i threatened to leave because of some billing issues. So they were able to credit some of the wrong charges. At the end of the conversation, i asked him if the curve will be in store soon, the guy told me that yes, indeed, it will be mid of 2nd quarter sometimes in May 2008, on top of the BB curve, Verizon line up also consists of LG Envy 2 and also the cmda version of LG Prada. Unless the dude was yanking my chains… that sounds very promising

Personally, I will give up the crappy GPS on my 8830 for the WiFi and Camera on the Curve CDMA 8330.

My car has GPS. My Truck has GPS. My phone’s GPS only works in the main TELUS region. Kind of sucks when out of that region.

Not everybody goes to work in a court or airport.

VZW stop being fukking stupid and just release the curve. The pearl is garbage, and the 88 is not for the general public.

I work on Wall St so i have no problem with any carrier, i will dump your ass for someone else if this shit gets dragged on much longer.

I’m waiting for the 8330 Curve for Sprint… I’ll jump at the opportunity as soon as it’s available. My brother has the ATT Curve, and loves it, but I’m not ready to give up EVDO. Lets go Sprint, we’re all ready!!!

I spoke with someone at Blackberry yesterday and they said Verizon hasn’t even requested the Curve from them yet!!! He said that once they do, it won’t take that long to get it switched to CMDA. I have been with Verizon for 12 years but am considering switching to ATT to get the Curve.

Does anyone have any other updated info. about Verizon and the Curve?

i don’t understand why verizon won’t get the curve. i know all of my friends would switch to verizon with its amazing service if it got it and the pearl is essentially the curve but not as great!

I’ve been with verizon for almost 2 years now, have been on cingular, nextel, and sprint. By far verizon has the best coverage in my area (Los Angeles). I have had my 8703e for about 6 months now, and I can honeslty say it’s the best phone i’ve had as far as form and function. Prior to my bb I had the Moto q (enuff said-I don’t have it anymore). The camera funtion on a phone is nice to have for CONVENIENCE, but is NOT a neccessity. At the end of the day, whatever device you have, it’s still a phone, all the other bells and whistles on a phone are nice to have, but if coverage sucks, what’s the point? Don’t get me wrong I would get a BB curve in a second if made available on vzw and I am still hoping it is released for vzw…

I wonder what will happen if and when the bb 9xxx, comes out..all of you will be on that forum saying the same stuff….

I think that Verizon thinks that it does not need to carry the Curve since they have the 8830 and just released the Pearl2. They do not beleive that we will go and sign up with AT&T just to get the Curve. I am going to switch to AT&T to get the Curve this week.

OK, so it may be as late as Q2 08 before the Curve drops on Sprint, but can it be any further confirmed whether or not GPS will be crippled or not? Previous reports have stated that GPS my be crippled on the 8330’s, is that for all carriers or just VZW? Please Sprint/RIM, don’t disable GPS!!! Oh yeah, and hurry up and launch this device too!!
