Comcast promises 400 HD Channels this year and 800 in 2008
Ignoring the fact that the technological equipment isn’t capable of such a claim, a Comcast exec has entered the HD pissing match with DirecTV by annoucing that Comcast will be providing 400 HD channels this year, and whopping 800 in 2008. Oh…it’s also worth pointing out that there’s barely enough content for the current HD lineup, or even the 300 channels in Peasant Cablesphere. Hey look…we can do it too…"BGR will be the largest tech blog in the world by the end of 2008." There. That was easy. Heh.

I will be the youngest president in the US at the age of 26, I will defet Bush and institute BG as my vice-president. Wow that’s fun we should do this more often. That idea is possible as long as they add 400 tv sales and some other useless programs.
Victor, you will need to work on a constitutional amendment before you can be president. And Bush won’t be running next year. He is not allowed.
I guess I can’t beat the “System” but just like comcast I will promise things that are both half-ass and entirely unproductive. Oh so I guess I will be just like any other guy up there already.
We can let both Victor and Bush run via the same amendment.
nice. . . .400 HD channels. 375 of which are Local access bulletins. see when is the next village board meeting in a podunk town that is 300 miles from you . . in HD.
400…Ha yeah, that happens all the time with technology. “Yeah we have 13 channels now but tomorrow 400″ gimmea break.
Yeah as long as I have ABC/CBS/FOX in HD I’m happy for TV series. Gotta have the HBO HD (premium), Discovery, ESPN is now free (whoohoo) … but now they have to convince REAL stations to do all HD like FX, WB, MTV etc. without having to pay outrageous fees and still give 4:3 to sorry souls.
Great it’s ‘HD’ but give me 5.1 & real 16:9 ratio and then I’ll be happy. This means you ABC & non-5.1 TV !!!
Yes it ia a marketing thing..
Yes it will probably mostly be Homebrew/Local/Community HD shows/channels..
Yes Direct is already doing this to claim more HD than Comcast..so its coming back at them 10 fold..
