Brits interested in cutting down on computer CO2
I guess I never really cared noticed that personal computers gave off CO2, and could potentially lead to Global Warming. A UK taskforce is interested in bringing major attention to this issue, though, blaming computing for as much Global Warming as the airline industry. Their focus is to try and get companies to move their major use items, such as e-mail and internet usage, to huge, energy efficient servers, potentialy cutting down on resources by 75%. They may be British, but Al Gore certainly would be proud.

Keep in mind that the article is concentrating on electricity usage, and not actual CO2 production from a PC itself. Power-expensive machines use more power than they may have to, versus say a green server, and indirectly cause more CO2 production due to the amount of electricity use.
PCs do not produce CO2 directly as they do not have an (hopefully) combustion reactions (except for the exploding and flaming ones).
