AUO squeezes last few millimeters out of screen real estate
Touting what they claim to be the "world’s slimmest border of 0.9-millimeters" on a mobile LCD screen, AU Optronics is set to unload two new screens for mobile devices shortly. The "world’s slimmest" version drops in at 2.2-inches, while the second version, at 2.7-inches, claims to have the "world’s highest contrast ratio" of 2,100:1. Even though they will be coming soon to a phone near you, don’t expect this tech to reach the levels of PCs and TVs, quoting one researcher that states it will be a "mobile device exclusive." Aww shucks!
When all is said and done I will be able to see the beautiful amount of porn and naked pictures on my phone much clearer… wait is that the idea? Well at least watching a show on my phone won’t so bad I will only have to squint half of the time.
