MIT team on the verge of eliminating corded power
I love my laptop. No matter where I go, I can take it with me and have basically my entire life at my fingertips. That kind of freedom just feels good, ya know? Of course, until you have to plug it in to recharge. Then, you’re tethered to the world like everyone else. Well, the folks at MIT’s Department of Physics, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science are trying to do away with that. In what they call "WiTricity," they’ve taken their theory and applied it to a light bulb…which they were able to light up from a power source 7 feet away. No wires. No connection. Yes, at this point, it’s like the guy who invented the square wheel, but there’s progress, people!

I wish they could add a video of this on youtube or something. I think this would be cool
This is why blogs get a bad rap, this is just horrible, yellow journalism. MIT isn’t on the verge of eliminating corded power, they just had a successful experiment. Corded power will be around for years, but eventually, over time, and after a lot more experimentation and developments, we may get to a time where batteries and cords are obsolete. Eventually. Over time. Not on the verge.
Take some responsibility for what you write, for once. Read the article, and don’t sensationalize the news. Treat your readers like we’re smarter than that.
The Tesla Coil (Nikola Tesla: July, 10 1856 to January 7, 1943, was an inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer and electrical engineer. Credited for inventing the radio and most of what we take for granted that makes the world go round.) was one of the first attempts at the transmission of electrical power through the air. But this was never completed when Tesla abandoned it late in his life after being branded a “Mad Scientist”. He was successful in powering small appliances and “light bulbs”. So making it sound like MIT is having a premier breakthrough . . . . not.
Actually I know everyone will say im like Al Gore who invented the internet, but I actually came up with this idea about 3 years ago but with no money nor knowledge to pursue it I let it go..
