Apple MacBook Pro Updates & Free Nano for Students
It is that time of year when students are about to head back to school, and what better way then to start off with a brand new Apple laptop and free iPod Nano? Today Apple increased the specs of the MacBook Pro laptop. The processor bump went from 2.16GHz & 2.33GHz to 2.2GHz & 2.4GHz. The video card has been refreshed to a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT up to 256 MB with the new mercury-free, power-efficient LED-backlit displays. The 17" MacBook Pro has the option to increase the screen size to 1900×1200 pixels, which is 30% more pixels then the standard model. The wireless option has officially been upgraded to the new 802.11n standard. The new MacBook Pros start at $1799 for students and $1999 for non-students.
On top of all of those improvements, with most Apple computer purchases as a student you get a $200 mail in rebate. Just enough for a new 4 GB iPod nano, or enough to bring the price of the iPods with video as cheap as $50 after rebate.

The students are the ones whose parents prolly pay for the computers yet get a discount. What about us non-college types? I think Apple is getting a little snobby, ya think?
Even with the college student discount APPLE IS STILL TO DAMN EXPENSIVE. That’s just my opinion.
chris…you’re right my man. Apple is still very expensive with student discounts but every new Mac user i know (few of my friends) they’re happy to pay the money and never complain about viruses or spyware. you get what you pay for but i still wouldn’t buy a Mac…yet
