Sony breaks the $500 Blu-Ray barrier
Well…the days of using the following excuse are over: "But, I can justify buying a PS3 because it’s the cheapest Blu-Ray player out right now!" Sony has recently announced that their BDP-S300 player will now get the $100-off treatment and can now be had for $500. The usual Blu-Ray goodies can be found on it, such as 1080p video, HDMI, MPEG4 codec support, as well as legacy outputs. Future upgrades include the desire to play Resistance, Obvlivion, and Guitar Hero III and now not having the means to do it.

Nice job, only $400 more to go until I’ll actually consider one. Perhaps I’ll get a Sorny or Panaphonics instead.
Features are good, upgrade opportunity makes it easy to buy.
Sony only dropped the price because they MIGHT get spanked in court with last weeks lawsuit #3 of last week. Sell alot of cheap Blu-Ray players now before Certicom gets money off of every Blu-Ray disc and player so it doesnt go the way of the DoDo, and BetaMax LOL
