AT&T BlackBerry Curve Unboxing

Yes, we all knew this day would come sooner or later. For everyone out there that has not been able to locate one, keep trying! There is no reason to believe there will be a short supply of the Curve, as AT&T has ordered a ton of these. From everything I’ve been told, stores should be receiving double shipments in the coming days which should help calm some of the frenzy. Someone better help us when the Apple iPhone is released though. Any volunteer medics out there that want to standby outside AT&T and Apple stores on launch day for us? Mmm hmm. We give the BlackBerry Curve, 4.5 BGs. Click over for the full unboxing effect!

I ordered mine yesterday at 7am CST (yep, set the alarm for 5am here in CA)! My first BB. Cannot wait! The lady was nice enough but when I told her what phone I wanted, she said something like “oh, that must be the new Pearl that just came out.” Hmmmm. Not quite, but ah well, it’s coming MOnday.

I called 2 of my local stores the day prior to the release. One lady laughed at me when I asked when it was going to be in. The other person said it’s being released in late July. That was about 12 hours before the release! LOVELY.

In any case, I am DYING to get my hands on this lovely little toy.

Well BG this was a fun one with last week’s predictions…Anyways it is here now and you always have the big scoops for us, thanks for all your efforts.

I picked one up at my local store here in Santa Cruz, CA this morning (Full Retail). Been updating it and now have it fully running even with Yahoo! Messenger on Cingular/AT&T. It is awesome, BG was right it is much smaller and especially lighter than the 8800 which I was able to sell off today!

    TGIF!

    re: Edge data speed
    my opinion -
when you’re surfing web pages on a mobile phone, don’t try to surf big sites like amazon.com or the main page of the Los Angeles Times, etc.
Find the web pages that are formatted for mobile phones. There are lots of them out there. Boy Genius has a good one. It loads on my BB 8700 in a blink of an eye at Edge speeds.

Lief - re: eject o clip!
    How right you are.
Last night I dropped something on my ceramic tiled kitchen floor. Bent over to pick the something up… *BINGO* Blackberry ejected out of the plastic holster. I look down and the battery has popped out of the unit, the back plate popped off, and the BB landed face down… Luckily the screen wasn’t cracked. This has happened to me several times…

So sick of hearing about the Curve being available for Rogers, and Cingular…when is it going to be ready for T-Mobile!?! Damn!
For all you waiting on the Iphone it’s coming out on June 29th…on Cingular of course! I am so tempted to switch if only they had better plans! Just curious, what BB plan is everyone getting for their Curve?

Does anybody know how long is the exclusive deal for the curve with at&t, and if the curve is going to be put on CDMA networks when the exclusive deal is over?

T-Mobile will be getting the 8320 later. It will have WIFI, so they won’t be launching it until after Hot Spot at Home launches.

Got one of these little numbers and have put it through the paces. It is the best B-B I’ve had (and I’ve had em since the 957 that ran on mobletex, friends). It is slim, quick and all-around dependable. Though I miss the GPS a tad from the 8800, this device is better, especially the keyboard. I simply put a BT GPS in the car and BAM! just put a Blackberry skin around it for protection (the RIM Jimmyhat, if you will) and put it in your pocket like a normal phone-it’s fantastic, its so good!
