Cingular / AT&T has had a service like this for a couple of years now. It is called Escape-a-Date. It comes with the Voice Connect package. If you dial *8 from your phone, an automated caller will call you back and prompt you on what to say. It is pretty cool service, try it sometime.
While fun I think that if you can’t come up with an excuse of your own then you are already a big L. But hey anything that helps others can’t be too bad.
