Gave up waiting on Business Care so I suffered the hassle of paying in a store -but it ended up kinda nice because the staff dumped all the old 8700 data into the Curve – plus they filled out the rebate and mailed it off immediately. (I hate the torture of filling those out what with the cutting of the box, etc).

So I’ve had mine 24 hours and there is *some* adjustment with the trackball. My finger still goes right to the side scroll wheel. On some level the 8700 was easier to work with – but the tradeoff of having the smaller phone and camera is totally worth it. I get fantastic reception and callers claim the phone sounds much better than my 8700.

got mine at 51st and park a little while ago. said they got a hundred at 1pm, when i got mine around 4:30, they only had 20 left.

I ordered mine online and didn’t get rush shipping. I’ll still probably get it on Monday before getting a call from my Cingular Store contact who will be holding one for me as soon as they get them in stock. Still can’t believe that shipments were so small.

It sucks to not have it yet but I know its on the way and I don’t have to wait 12 weeks to get the rebate. What’s the word on the rebates anyway?

Picked mine up yesterday. Little tweaked about no case but I like it better than the 8800 and the Pearl. Camera is nicer than anticipated.

For those that have, has anyone had issues separating SMS/MMS from the messages folder. On the 8800 it eliminated one of the folders. On the curve I get three: Messages, Email, & SMS/MMS.

Stopped by an AT$T store last night, had no idea about any release date…surprise, surprise….I get a discount from my company as well but they said it was 50% off the MSRP, not 50% off the 2 year plan price….is that what anyone else has heard or do you get the % off the 2 year plan phone price????

nyc did not have many maybe two official cingular stores had it….some claim they were getting it today…..others said june 7th(dont know where they get that date). if nyc doesnt have it again im just gonna rush order it today for sat or monday… all us nyc people dont have it do good

Got mine in San Francisco today. Cingular store on Van Ness agot 10. Picked mine up at 5PM and there were 3 left.

Man! NO stores on Long Island have this anywhere! Believe me – I’ve claled them all…”should be a few weeks” they said!

“Released”? I don’t think so….can’t order via the Business Sales Team yet either today (”maybe tomorrow” they told me)….might as well hold a piece of candy in front of my kid’s face and keep running away when he tries to grab it!

I currently have Sprint. No SIM I still have my old TMo SIM tho lol I’m undecided as to if I want to switch back now or wait until August. The Discounted Rate for The Curve is the only thing that is making me want to wait.

You can usually find someone on ebay that sells remote unlocking codes via email. They send you instructions on how to get to the unlocking screen on a blackberry and then you input the code in and throw in your SIM card, and you’re all set. I did it twice before, once when the 7290 came out and also for the 8700c(again, 2 devices t-mobile was slow in getting to). Should run you about 30-50 bucks a code.

If you all would have just woke up early and called AT&T and ordered it with the extra shipping cost you’d get it tomorow! why did u waste time, now you order and wont recieve yours till monday because stores are getting them either tomorrow or monday! The phone is the way to go, even if u find it you can just return it!

Customer service verified my upgrade status – but I’ve tried about 20 times so far today to do it online (since the business dept doesn’t have Curves in inventory, nor does their website section which operates separately with separate pricing-who knew that?). So I’ll try a different computer and see if the web will function better. If they underestimate demand for this, they’ll be totally unprepared for iPhone.

WRB – that’s how I ordered mine. It took a couple of attemts (the website has been acting funny all day, probably because of us Curve nerds) but it worked. It will tell you if you are eligible to upgrade. In my case, I had a couple of months before my contract was up. It just recently said that I was eligible. Perfect timing for a May 31st release.

Anyone tried to use the “Upgrade Now” link on your Cingular account – only to be met with the message “Apologize for the inconvenience, we can’t do the upgrade online, blah blah”?

I’m eligible (having had the account since 1987) and the website doesn’t function right.

finally, i got one here in Vegas. i called every hour till 1 pm and then just happened to be driving by so i thought i would stop in and see what the deal was, and lo and behold…the just got the shipment in 5 minutes ago!
so here i am at home playing with my new toy. FINALLY, i thought it would never come out.
