BlackBerry Curve to Launch May 31
Exclusive to AT&T for at least 90 days after launch.
AT&T will launch the full-featured and much anticipated BlackBerry Curve on May 31 in all distribution channels. The BlackBerry Curve is exclusive to AT&T for at least 90 days after launch and is the smallest, lightest full QWERTY BlackBerry yet offered. It combines a compact design with many new features and broad international coverage.
With an exclusive, liquid silver finish and new trackball navigation system, the Curve is the first BlackBerry device to support AT&T Mobile Music, an enhanced media player, support for stereo Bluetooth headsets and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The device also features a 2-megapixel camera. The Curve is the first BlackBerry to offer spell-checker for e-mail, AT&T Push-to-Talk, TeleNav Maps and the AT&T Mall feature for purchasing ring tones and downloads.
The Curve offers support for phone, BES/BIS e-mail access, text messaging, Web browser, organizer, corporate data applications and more.
The quad-band BlackBerry Curve gives customers the ability to make phone calls in more than 190 countries and access e-mail and other data applications in 130 countries. The new website http://www.wireless.att.com is just getting pounded right now. It’s probably best to go into your local stores to pick up one of these bad boys. I’m going to keep trying to order online with the instant rebate but come around 9 AM (currently 8:23 in CA) I’m leaving work to buy this “Curvalicious” phone.

So, for fun sakes I called the AT&T Phone Upgrade phone # to see if they have ANY information regarding the Curve - NOPE! The customer care rep is completely clueless about the phone and can’t even find it! lol…I expected that which is why it’s funny to me. I guess I’ll just have to go to the store and pick it up…crap!

Does anyone actually have this phone in their hands at this point? I have tried calling and ordering over the phone (cus care)-no luck, I have tried to call every store in my area, no luck, I have tried the next state over,no curve. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ONE?

This thing is a total mess. I have called stores in the Dallas area. One had 5 in stock and has already sold them all as soon as they opened. Another has some in stock (maybe 5) but says they aren’t in their inventory system yet so they CAN’T sell them. They said they didn’t even know a price for them. Another store doesn’t have any and doesn’t think they will get any until next week.
I also can’t even log on to the Cingular/AT&T website to order one.
Way to be prepared…

Update on New Jersey stores - Yea well I got hit with classic AT&T store rep syndrome. I call and they tell me shipment is coming in today. Ok. Call back ohh the shipment is here but the manager is taking a piss. OK. Call back ohh no they didnt come today. Its like they hire retards to work at these stores. Instead of getting me all pumped up (or instead of just having it in the store the DAY of launch) just tell me they are not going to be in. Why only cell phone providers are the only morons who advertise before they have them in the store. Its like Microsoft or Sony saying “OK, today is PS3 launch day, or Xbox 360 launch day BUT they wont be in stores till the 15th.” I swear I hate AT&T so much if they didnt get all the new phones first I would, well I wouldnt do anything because I really dont like any other providers. If I can find one today screw it ill keep my 8800 till the iPhone comes out, this shit is ridiculious.

Good news. Here in West Texas(El Paso) I called my local Cingular store and the lady said she didn’t know when the release date on the phone was. So I politely informed her to check her website and she said she didn’t know anything about the phone and had no clue it had been released. So she talked to her sup. and they checked the back and sure enough they had 2 in stock!. Shes holding one for me next week!

I feel your paine eJay. I just called the local store and got the shipment hasn’t come in. Will be in around 1 to 2 PM (PST). I tried to order on the phone - they don’t even see it in their system yet. And yes, AT&T does hire morons and retards.

Chris: Use JiveTalk - it’s free and will do all the IM services. I started using it last week and love it. It works great. I like it better than any of the other IM clients (outside of the BB Messenger).
My business sales rep finally found the correct code (not the same code as what’s online). Mine’s on order, being shipped overnight and should be here tomorrow. Woo hoo.

I just ordered mine off the website. I bet I receive it before my AT&T store contact calls me to say that she has one for me.
Good luck to the rest of you. I’m afraid it’s going to take till next week to get shipments out to give stores a little bit of inventory.
