BlackBerry & AT&T “Rock The Curve” Launch Event June 7th, Confirmed

As you can see, the BlackBerry Curve launch party in NYC is definitely confirmed for June 7th! One interesting piece of information is that after you register, they ask you to take a short survey to "enter to win a BlackBerry Curve". Either RIM is not giving out the device which would be unusual as past events have indicated, or they are just pulling a nice scam to try and collect as much user info as possible. Nice job guys, see you there! That is unless they pull my registration, but they wouldn’t do that… Anyone want to meet up? Maybe we can convert all the unhappy, overworked, stressed monkey suits into BGR fans?

I have Sprint and I’m waiting for TMo but I didn’t really look much into AT&T. They seem to be more expensive than I’m already paying with Sprint but, I didn’t go into much depth. . .

BG, So does this mean it’s also getting released from
AT&T on June 7th? Or was Engadget right about the
    June 13th release date?

As much as I love this phone, I don’t think I am going to give up my Treo 750 and my hacked HSPDA. Damn you RIM, you should have released this phone with 3G!

HALLELUJAH, praise the Lord (or should I say RIM !!!!), our CURVE is finally here, at least its going to be launched, anyway.

Enjoy the party, BJ. (Does this mean that we will find out your identity?)

I’m so excited, I can barely compose this post or myself (I mean about the CURVE, that is). For all CrackBarrys, this has been a very bumpy ride!!

I just registered for the LA curve launch party on the 14th. The past RIM events have been having phone giveaways aplenty. AFAIK, this is not open to the public. You have you be a reseller or associated with AT&T or RIM in some way.

So since there’s launch partys in different citys, NYC on June 7th, and LA on June 14th.
When do they drop the device into stores. Before or after the partys, or in between?

    Good question.

Is there precedent - i.e., did the Pearl have a launch party? If so, did it hit the stores before or after?

While I enjoy this, specially as I sit at my desk in NY. I feel only slightly pissed at the fact that I can’t go. In any case BG enjoy and let JB to hit us up with an update of the OQO2. Hope you are doing great.

My Blackberry curve experience so far.

Woke up on May 31 and checked my daily websites for blackberry curve updates and found out that Cingular/ATT was selling it on that date but not in stores. I work for company that has an internal website that allows us to buy Cingular devices and plans for a nice discount. I did not think they would be one of the first to cell the curve. Anyways I bought mine on May 31 with next day delivery and received it the next day at 9:30am. I work in Dallas and the Curves were being shipped from Ft. Worth which is 30 minutes away. I was very excited when I opened the box. But when I tried to activate it through ATT I was told they had a problem with the activation and it would be taken care of within 24 hrs. I freaked out and tried not to be an ass with the the rep. She told me to keep the curve turned off and just power it on after 24 hours. Crap!!!! Anyways I couldnt wait and turned it on after 1 hr and it started working. YES!!!!!!!!!

Totally hot device. No matter what type of layover I have in my life this thing keeps me occupied. I am very impressed with listening to mp3 on speaker phone.

One bug I have noticed… I uploaded some personal mp3 ringtones and my curve was only vibrating when I received calls. I changed the ringtone back to standard default and the curve rang after 2 vibrates. Then I changed the ringtone back to my mp3 tone and it would ring after 2 vibrates. I’m still playing around with it more to figure this crap out but if you would like more feedback on other stuff left me know.
