Apple iPhone release date

Obviously the most anticipated part of the whole Apple iPhone launch is the release date. What do we know? Well after CNBC reported the incorrect date being June 20th, yes we just said incorrect, we thought we’d chime in. A couple sources of ours have seen AT&T posters saying "June 11th", but Apple usually launches products on a Tuesday. Apple’s WWDC is on Monday, the 11th of June. Can we put 2 + 2 together? Sure. My personally feeling is that El Jobso will take the stage on Monday, announcing either immediate availability, or that the phone is "available starting tomorrow". Could we be wrong? It’s possible, but not likely. Start lining up people. Word on the street is that the current announced pricing of $499 and $599 for the 4GB and 8GB models respectively will be the 2 year contract pricing, with full retail pricing much higher. Also, remember the whole Apple iPhone prepaid thing? It looks correct. All AT&T phones including data devices can be activated or added to prepaid lines. Time will tell…

So Curve Release Shortly After? Sorry, I want this phone out of the way. Someone mentioned something about an “Apple Conspiracy” over The Curve/PDA Market

Any word/guestimate on how much the stand alone unlim data plan will run and price with a voice plan?

Actually to correct the story a little.
Not all phones can be activated on prepaid. They can be used on prepaid, but the system will not let any 3G phone be sold as prepaid. You have to buy it outright(understandable) but we can’t put the IMEI in the system under the prepaid account.

Right. You pay full retail, and then put it on your prepaid line and pay per KB…

I dont think at&t is handling the marketing of the device well at all, I mean it will basically sell itself, but at every turn they have made some questionable choices.

That is the “Data Connect” Plan for PDAs. The “Smartphone Connect” Plan is $20 for unlimited. And I am guessing either way you still have to pay another price to your bill for voice phone service?
Can anyone confirm what plans apply to the iPhone please?

The price is $39.99 for the unlimited media package including 1500 text/multi-media messages. The plans currently available and advertised for other pda’s & smartphones will not apply to the iphone. Their will also be a 20 gig media package including fewer text/multimedia messages for $24.99. I spoke with a representative who said that by the time the phone releases their could possibly be more options available including a package that may give you unlimited web access without all the text options.
Bring on the Iphone, G.O.A.T. when it comes to smart phones.
