Sony debuts flexi-OLED

Wrought with TONS of possibilities, Sony has stepped up the long-awaited OLED game with what they’re calling the world’s first flexible design. For those not familiar with OLED, it stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, and is seemingly the future of screen technology, saving energy and providing countless thin options for its applications. Sony’s new creation is said to be made of plastic, instead of glass, which allows it to bend quite a bit. Though no specific project is slated to utilize this new tech, I’m sure your imagination can come up with some pretty creative ideas. Crave has suggested wrap-around TV glasses. What say you?

How about clothes - hot girls could program exactly what bits could be seen at any given time. ..or exactly what those bits looked like… :)

Lol why Johdaxx idea is great, this a awesome push for the next frontier in mobile computing, we will no longer be limited by hard screens. I can’t wait to see this on actual hardware. It will not only be the ultimate device, until the next best thing comes along, but alo the most expensive one.

Yo Victor. While OLED screens, especially the flexible ones (FOLEDs), will become the ultimate device, they might not be as expensive as you think. They are actually less expensive to produce than LCD and Plasma screens and are more energy efficient. I can’t wait!
