Xbox 360 Elite wins a prize?

Yep, it’s true. The "old news except for the HD output and bigger hard drive" Xbox 360 Elite has somehow stolen a spot on PC World’s Top 20 Products of the Year. How the seemingly intelligent staff over at PCWorld managed to gloss over the fact that this is a marginally updated machine is beyond us. Bestow honors on whomever you so desire, but know that the world is judging you. Other top gadgets and products? #9 is OS X Tiger, which actually dropped in 2005, #5 is the RIM Blackberry 8800, and drumroll please…#1 is Google Apps Premier Edition? Whoa. Suffice to say that BGR is not on the governing board of PC World. Click on for more outdated/illogically selected top 20 gadget goodness.

You need to remember that these guys are getting old and that their minds can fail. Well let’s keep them happy and just nod our heads.
The only reason I don’t feel particularly outraged over this is because this is PC World. Otherwise, I would be flaming the incredibly stupid stupidity that would allow something like this to win a prize when all they’re doing is overcharging you for HDMI and a 120 gig hard drive.
