Jim Balsillie buys Nashville Predators. What the hell?

Well, it is true. The Nashville Predators have been sold to Jim Basillie. The current team owner Craig Leipold is said to have reached an agreement with Jim a little earlier. The sale will be completed as soon as the paperwork is ready. For anyone that cares, which will be all 3 of you, the Nashville Predators will stay in Nashville for at least the next season — nothing after that is confirmed. Looks like hockey might be back guys! Or totally not. Whatever floats your boat James…

Well BG, I guess I must be one “of the 3 people that cares” about Jim Balsillie, the co-CEO of RIM, buying the Nashville Pradators. If you live in Toronto and are part of the ‘LEAF NATION,’ i.e., someone who lives or dies with the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Team, this is the best news we have heard in a long time.
Now there will be someone who not only owns a team but understands the great game of hockey. The fans will have another team in Ontario that they will be able to see. If Jim Balsillie moves the team to Hamilton, Ontario, this would set up a great rivalry between the Toronto and Hamilton fans.
Bring it on Jim!!

Yea ESPN didn’t even mention this going down on Sportscenter. Really shows how much America loves hockey…probably a bad move to make their playoffs the same time as the NBA playoffs as well. Bring Gretsky and Lemiux back.

Make it 5.
Bummer from here. Live about 90 miles from Nashville and went to games when able. Previous owner said low attendance and ticket prices did him in. $80 US for a decent seat is not low for this house. However as pointed out the US seems to care as much about Hockey as Soccer. Too bad best game around IMO.
Back to watching the minor league team du jour in Huntsville and trying to find the NHL on the tube.
