Playstation 3 80GB is real!

Real in Korea, that is. Remember that 80GB Playstation 3? Well It looks like the rumors of were pretty much on point, with one notable exception. Sony appears set to release an 80GB flavor of their faltering powerful Playstation 3 console system. The only catch is that, at least initially, the big drive will only be available to Korean customers. Consider it a bit of a consolation prize for such an extended wait for the system, as Koreans have yet to enjoy access to any version of the current generation gaming platform. The PS3 80GB is set to drop on June 16th for the Korean equivalent of $557, which seems like a hell of a deal considering the fact that the 60GB version retails for $599 here in the states. Could this mean a combination of price drops and capacity increases are on their way to our homeland? It could be one way for Sony to revive their faltering gaming division…
