Word on the street is that RIM and AT&T are holding a launch party for the BlackBerry Curve on June 8th in New York City. Best believe BGR will be in attendance! In addition, multiple sources have confirmed what we suspected — AT&T is really trying to get the BlackBerry Curve out the door this month. Nothing is set in stone, but I think we can all agree that it is in everyone’s best interest to get this out sooner than later. Was that just not enough BlackBerry info for today? Oh whatever, fine guys! The BlackBerry 8120 we unearthed, will in fact be dubbed the BlackBerry Pearl 2. Until next time, your good friend BG.

So is the curve coming out this friday or not? I am conflicted because my hookup in the AT&T store says they have been trained on it but they wont know until the night before when it arrives on the truck. Is it going to be in May or June? BGR please let us know.

I’m just sick of waiting. Cingular Reps are being anal retentive about telling me what’s the actual date even though I know they know when it’s coming out. So damn frustrating. Besides the wait, Cingular also has the worst billing I’ve ever experienced.
They just need to HTFU with this release!

Guys, Guys, Noboby knows! Maybe not even BG, and Engadget is never on the money with Release dates. I think that Friday was the ORIGINAL planned release date, however AT&T is probably thinking that it might take sales away from the iphone! Granted they are two totally different devices,but they probably dont see it that way.
I originally thought the complete opposite. And thought that they would want it out at least 2 to 3 weeks before the iphone. But if this is the route that AT&T is taking then we might not see this thing until the end of June. All we could do is hope that this is all hype, and that BG turns out to be right after all! I would love a Friday release!

Just called the AT&T store that has me on the waiting list to get one. The Manager there is a friend of mine and he said that the release has now been pushed back to the end of June. He said they want to release it the same time as the I(diot)Phone. Sorry for the bad news…. I really want to get this model!!

yea a big way of life friday is currently two days away i will at least know the latest date is the thirteenth at worst if bgr isnt correct….i hope he is …thats wat has gotten him so popular the exclusivity of getting blackberry info i hope he has stuck to his roots!!!!!!!!

In defense of everyone anticipating this phone, my life will change because it will be my first blackberry and my current piece of crap flip phone that is falling apart needs to be replaced immediately because I can barely answer a call anymore. Friday would be a great time to fix this problem…

well before i go to work i would like to say i personally called cingular and said i would like a preorder for the blakberry curve lol i guess the guy slipped and he said i cant preorder but when i asked him if its coming out tommorrow he said yes ….i should have took his name down ….but call cingular customer service and try to trick them into saying more than they should 1-800-888-7600 pick new service and ask if u can have the phone delivered for tomm lol tell me if u get the same results

Another reason I really don’t think it will happen tomorrow is that when companies really want to get business drummed up they will release info to the public Exclaiming the News that they now have a NEW “Something” coming out Friday!! ……It has been pretty quite. If they really wanted to get people excited and push sales, they would have this on the cover of every Newspaper and their website. “COMING FRIDAY”….
I just don’t think it will be happening till June….. Damn!!

Just to throw this out to everyone.
Apparently one of RIM’s Co-CEOs was just on CNBC. He was holding up a Curve and simply said “which is being rolled out across the world”.
He wasn’t much help…

Reading all these posts didn’t really help me calm down at all. I’m more aggrevated than I was yesterday. I know it’s just a “phone” or whatever but I’ve been holding out on upgrading my Blackberry for almost a year and a half.

I couldn’t wait any longer. I suspect TMO won’t get this until Late June or early July, so I went for the 8800. I can’t say it was a bad choice. VS the 8700g, it’s lighter, and has a much better feel [better built]. The 8300 is probably the cats ass, but the way I figure that by the time my 8800 is need of replacement, the 9000’s will be out :-O

When I was researching the Pearl I came across this sight which intro’d me 2 the curve! Perfect 4 me cause I would prefer a full keayboard and camera….and w/ BB I’ll b able 2 stay on top of projects 4 work!
So 2 the simpleton who said “its just a phone” If u feel that way then u shouldn’t be on this site!
Also I’m waiting 4 it 2 b released on TMO, but the cingular rep sd they r trying 2 roll it out b4 the month is up…and that was yesterday so….I’m keepin my fingers crossed 4 tomorrow!

i just spoke with Sharmaine at Cingular / AT&T Customer Service. After saying that she’s never even heard of the Curve and putting me on hold several times to “check with other customer service representatives,” she came back and said that it should be out around June 31st. She said that the reps usually know about phones atleast a few weeks in advance (and she used the iphone as an example) and that neither she or the rep she was speaking with. She kept asking me if I’m sure I wasn’t referring to the 8800…
can you say BOOOOOOOOO! I’m still keeping my fingers crossed though!
