BlackBerry Curve launch party

Word on the street is that RIM and AT&T are holding a launch party for the BlackBerry Curve on June 8th in New York City. Best believe BGR will be in attendance! In addition, multiple sources have confirmed what we suspected — AT&T is really trying to get the BlackBerry Curve out the door this month. Nothing is set in stone, but I think we can all agree that it is in everyone’s best interest to get this out sooner than later. Was that just not enough BlackBerry info for today? Oh whatever, fine guys! The BlackBerry 8120 we unearthed, will in fact be dubbed the BlackBerry Pearl 2. Until next time, your good friend BG.

How bout the blackberry curve on t-mobile?

BG, have you heard anything about a release date for T-Mobile, maybe both carriers will release it on the same day. Please tell me I have a shot at that dream?

RE: release date for T-Mobile blackberry curve?
Was the Pearl released on the same day for Cingular and T-Mobile? If yes, then I could see that the same might happen with the Curve this time.

No the pearl was not released on the same day, but cing got the 8700 1st and the 8800 1st. I would hope T-Mobile could at least compete and release the 8300 the same day, the only thought I have is maybe they will release the 8320 with wifi soon after, how much after, who knows?

The Pearl was released on T-Mobile prior to Cingular.

I just activated service on an older 8703 bb at tmobile the other day. The sales rep wanted me to get the 8800. I asked him about bb curve. He said he doesn’t know what they are. So like, I threw him a curve?

Hahaha. I’ve done the same thing at Cingular. I almost upgraded my 7130c to an 8800, but then found out about the 8300 coming. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger. I have asked several Cingular reps about it and they keep playing dumb and pointing to the 8800. You know once the 8300 hits, 8800 sales will shrivel up like Barry Bonds nuts.

If Friday holds up, your the man BG! If AT&T is smart they’ll push this thing out the door on Friday the 25th because of the long Memorial Day weekend! Long weekends lead to big sales$

Guys, Friday I spoke with a cingular tech rep. in the Nashville, TN location and asked her about the 8300. She couldn’t give me a release date but she did say that the blackberry people had been there that day introducing the new device to the tech guys…she stated it’s a fantastic device and most probably the most anticipated blackberry to date since everyone she speaks to asks about its release. Just thought I’d share.

Will be interesting to see how the sales of the 8800 go after the 8300 drops. Blackberry’s always used to have this “no cameraphone” aura around them, because of security concerns, etc…
However, where I work the folks who use blackberries could also use cameras on their BB’s. We have guys going out to customer sites and we need to be able to take quick pictures of the sites and send them back to the home office, etc.
We have like zero security concerns where I work regarding camera phones. It’s really the opposite - if a phone doesn’t have a camera built into it, it’s gonna be a hinderance.
I’m looking forward to seeing that keyboard on the 8300 - looks really nice from the pictures.

I am just wondering when will BG raffle of the Opportunity to join him at some of these parties, I am in New York almost every week and I know many people that are on your site that would enjoy that opportunity. In any case this will be a great device, although I am still thinking of the 8820, which sounded like a really nice device. Any device that could have GPS, Wi-Fi and Camera it would be great. Lets see when they have a 3g device (9xxx?) coming.

Well I hope friday, but I disagree that it would help sales, Verizon has the 8800 dropping on the Monday. Plus everyone that uses blackberrys will be in the HAMPTONS on friday…as will I.

Was re-reading this thread today.
That would really be cool if RIM gave T-mobile an exclusive on the 8300 before Cingular get it.
T-mobile really needs to get some hip devices. About all they have now are the HTC excalibur and the sidekick(s).
But I guess all I pay attention to are the PDA phones, so maybe there are some other good flips or whatever that T-mobile has.

I remember a time when I hated Flip Phones. I have no idea why? I got one. . . it became Godly haha. I remember a time when I thought PDAz were too damn big. . . What the hell was I thinking? I remember a time when I thought BlackBerrys were ugly. OMFG! THE CURVE IS THE SEXIEST EVER! I wanted a BB ever since the. . . well a few months ago haha but a new one with a Camera wasn’t on the way. . . Until Now. . . I can’t believe it’s almost here. . . This post was pointless haha I wonder how the 91xx? will be. . .

Any word on Verizon getting either the Pearl or the Curve?? Anything from them…. anything that’s better than their current inventory for this type of device?! I want a camera on my phone, so not very excited at all about the 8800.
