T-Mobile Wing Unboxing
Maybe you were a little shy about purchasing an unbranded OEM HTC P4350, maybe you wanted a better price, regardless the T-Mobile should offer you the same device with a couple nice added features. Obviously the biggest selling point is that Windows Mobile 6 Professional is loaded right on. T-Mobile opted to have the case customized and to tell you the truth, it might be a tad thicker, but it almost feels nicer than the standard HTC Herald. The navigation buttons have been redone, also the Windows key, OK key, and a couple others were also changed. With a 200MHz processor it’s still a very speedy device, and WM6 only helps! Pricing as stated before — $499 full retail, $299 with a 2 year agreement and $50 mail in rebate. We give the T-Mobile Wing 3.5 BGs.

Okay seriously, wm6 has impressed me so far. I love being able to look up my company’s global email directory through my device, that’s something everyone needs. Also on a wing the bluetooth with announce your new emails, sender and subject. It feels more like your desktop, so it feels more powerful(even if it’s not?).

Some people are reporting it is noticeably slower than the MDA (in changing from verticle to horizontal for instance).

Not sure about this one, but some of the other sliding phones I’ve used are heeeaavvvyyy. Looks kind of “cheap” too, but then again I haven’t used one, so I can’t say specifically.
If it’s TMO, I wouldn’t expect to see it until after the 8300 release; sometime in later May, early June? Maybe?

WM6 thats all you need to know

The Wing is coming out real soon isn’t it? I called TMo and they know nothing about The Curve, but already have a release date for this. Can’t remember when it is tho. . .

A number of people have them already. The wing is heavier than the MDA but thinner.
Release is 5-22-07 - T-Mo reps have been saying this for weeks now.
Pricing seems to be $299 after rebate with a 2 year contract. Some reps won’t say about this. Other people hear $249 after rebate with 2 year contract. One year contracts from $50-100 more.
Is there a firm date on the T-Mo BB8300 release yet?

I knew it was sometime soon, this month lol. My Uncle had the MDA and he is getting it(knowing him he bought it through customer care, so given what Don Kelly just said, he might already have it). I asked him about the 8300 first because he use to work at TMo and he still knows a lot of people that do. No one h talks to knows

Nothing on the BB8300. My 8700 died, and I HAD to get a new one, so I opted for the 8800. Will be here today, so I have toy for the weekend…yaaay!
I keep hearing that AT&T will have it next week [5.24/5.25?]. I’ve heard TMO will be 2 weeks after that, so early June.

ofcourse it going to be slower than the MDA. the MDA is the same as a hermes with a cpu of 400mhz the wind is only 200mhz or something like that look at spec sheets peeps

Good Lord, these blog responses are all chopped up with incorrect information…
MDA has a 200MHZ processor, identical to what is in the Wing.
Release date for the Wing is May 22nd, and this has been blasted all over the net for at least a month now.
Price is as follows:
$349.99 - $50.00 MIR on 2-year contract
$399.99 - $50.00 MIR on 1-year contract
$499.99 MSRP
I have all of the training materials to back myself up…I’m a T-Mobile rep. and already have the device in my hands. Hopefully I just cleared alot up…

Ok, I’ve searched, really, I have. I’ve seen rumors, but since MobileControl is a TMO rep, I was hoping to hear something more substantial.

The MDA has a 195 MHZ processer, 64 MB Ram, 128 MB Flash Size, 47.46 MB Storage Size

The blackerry 8300 has already been launched in Germany by T-Mobile. Hopefully the US isn’t too far behind. I plan on getting an unlocked Nokia E61i anyway. Gotta replace this T-Mobile MDA. Even with WM6 on it, its still nothing spectacular and I need a change.

“The MDA has a 195 MHZ processer, 64 MB Ram, 128 MB Flash Size, 47.46 MB Storage Size”
Paul,
Wing: TI OMAP 850 201MHz, 128MB ROM, 64MB DDR SDRAM
MDA: TI OMAP 850 200MHz, 128MB ROM, 64MB DDR SDRAM
SDA: TI OMAP 850 195MHz, 64MB ROM, 64MB DDR RAM
That is the correct information on all three device processors.
