I don’t think the iPhone is going to attract many people who have already been using smartphones for a few years. While I think the iPhone in innovative in design and some of the features rumored to be in it, the closed OS, non removable battery and lack of buttons make it not look as intriguing to me. I have had a phone with very little buttons on it (iMate SuperJam) and it was not a pleasant experience. I’ll stick with windows mobile and symbian series 60 for now.

sorry but my blackberry does email better than i expect the iphone to do and does very well with everything i use it for. It was $250 for the 8800 and now verizon has been selling theirs for $99 to some customers. I agree that the syncing with my mac would be awesome but i still think that EDGE and the unknowns will keep me from making the purchase.
I am interested to see how it lives up to the “revolutionary browsing”, I hope it lives up to everything but i’ll wait for a 3G one at the very least.

You can bet on it…this phone will be backordered before the release week is over! One thing that seems to escape all the Nokia, Samsung, Blackberry, etc users is that this phone will sync with a Mac flawlessly, and Windows users too for that matter. Most of these tried and true companies have done a miserable job relating to the Mac user. Sync through iTunes and have your Calendar, Address Book, Tasks, Notes, Voicemail, Music, Movies, Podcasts, Widgets, OSX, and on and on. All this discussion about the $500 price tag being too high…what do people think the latest Blackberry 8800 or the 8300 is going for..same price, less phone.
