Microsoft and Sandisk team up to create smart drives

Microsoft and Sandisk have announced their plans to collatborate and produce next generation USB flash drives, and flash memory cards. Their vision is to create new hardware and software that will allow the transfer and storage of your "personal computing enviroment". This could be stored onto the new flash drive that would offer applications, data, and a personalized interface. As far as security goes, enhanced security measures will be powered by TrustedFlash. TrustedFlash would protect the users files from malware and spyware on shared and public computers, according to SanDisk. Just like a good team should, SanDisk will be taking on the duties of producing the hardware, and Microsoft will handle the software side. We should be on the lookout for these new drives towards the middle of 2008.
