Oh don’t feel compelled if there’s not much info to update. I wish I could put my overly expensive hobby to good use and write articles. As I’ve spent countless dollars on devices this and last year. But I feel that its crucial in my profession to have a solid device that suits your needs. As an actor/model I’m on set all the time. So I’m one of the few that actually camp out on their mobile browsers, media player and instant messaging clients.it can be rather obnoxious looking/time consuming being on a laptop.

I’ve always found my way back to the blackberry despite all the other devices that are way more multimedia driven.In fact, a record breaking 12 times that I’ve tried to switch to other devices. Maybe I foresee a HUGE future for RIM. As the blackberry is the most popular and industry standard out here in Hollywood. Who knows but other devices have come close but fail in comparison – ie: blackjack, nokia e61 etc. They are just not there yet. I don’t have to tweak/modify anything but my alx file (thanks jibi!). Anyhow now I’m just rambling. Thanks for responding rather quickly.

Keep in mind that this event is geared towards administrators of BlackBerry servers, developerd for the BlackBerry solution, software companies with aplications for the BlackBerry and management/CIO-types who have already or are thinking about installing BlackBerry within their environment.

As for the 8300, I saw no less than a few hundred of these devices, mainly with RIM employees (including Jim Balsillie). If the 8320 and 8330 look exactly like the 8300, then I suppose it could have been present as well.

The 8830 was quite elusive, though. Supposedly one was given away at the Verizon party last night, but I’m not really sure I talked to anyone who actually saw it or heard that particular prize giveaway.

I will write-up a closing thoughts/summary post tonight when I get home. There wasn’t much to update from today, as I just attended sessions on PBX integration and monitoring/alerting solutions, unless the lot of you are interested in that info.

Yeah I kinda keep refreshing this page even though I dont expect it to be updated. I guess I’ll wait for the DAY 3 or Conclusion later this weekend. I just ditched my Nokia E61i. I really hope this 8300 pulls through.

I suspect you won’t hear anything on the 83xx today. Next week you will; on/around 5.14.07. My understanding is this:

AT&T: announce the 83xx on 5.14, but won’t be available in stores/online until June.

TMO: announce the 83xx sometime late May, early June, but won’t be available in stores/online until late June or early July.

No word on the other carriers.

Are we eventually going to hear anything interessting for us? Like the release of the 83xx with wifi, gps, camera and all the gizmo’s we’ve been all waiting for? Or this is just some conference about enterprise mumbo jumbo?
