Firefox to go mobile
Mozilla Foundation CEO Mitchell Baker has confirmed that Mozilla developers are hard at work on a mobile browser, but that the focus of FireFox has always been add-ons, and the ability to customize the browser, thus the problem to make it mobile. He also stated that this is a long term goal and that FireFox users should not expect to see something "soon". The main challenge he noted is that their goal is to bring a full web experience to a small screen. Hurry up guys, I’d be first in line to grab FireFox Mobile.

I hope it’s more reliable, smaller, and zippier than Minimo.

Yeah, I’m surprised redjen is the only one to mention MiniMo…
Doesn’t anyone realize this happened before? MiniMo was a port of Mozilla’s web engine (firefox) for Windows Mobile! It didn’t work out so well, as redjen pointed out…
I’d say this hardly counts as news…

The sad part is that at&t cripples Java on their branded phones so even if the browser takes off in popularity, anyone w/ at&t phones will not be able to run it the way it was meant to.

So I can have a program on my phone that eats up ALL MY RAM & RESOURCES the way firefox does on desktops? I can’t wait!
Tell them to fix the desktop version first before they work on other projects.

o rly… huh?
Maybe you’ve got spyware and stuff on your version, cuz Firefox barely eats anything on my system. I’ve got three tabbed windows currently, and its barely using any more resources than standard Windows processes, such as explorer!
Firefox is widely viewed as the most efficient browser there is, so I don’t know what your problem is.

Well Mark, here you go: http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=firefox+memory&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
You could only WISH that firefox could be nearly as efficient as Opera, especially when it comes to memory management.

No response to the memory management problem in Firefox or are all the messages on the Mozilla pages lying, Mark? Didn’t think so, enjoy your memory leak.
“Sorry, I couldn’t accept your call because my browser was using all my resources.”
