HP can’t make up its mind

For some reason it’s comforting to know that large corporations have a bit of identity crisis, just like the rest of us. In a Jekyl and Hyde moment, HP has decided to offer a Blu-ray Disc Writer/HD DVD-ROM combo drive as a custom configuration option on its PCs. The drive is capable of reading both Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs, though it only writes to the former, so if data storage is your primary concern you’re pretty much locked into the Blu-ray side of things. Nevertheless, this move assures you access to any and all content that is "limited" to one format or another, making it an attractive choice for all the HD media junkies out there. The option will be available beginning May 9th. So you’re telling me that I have a Sony Playstation 3 with Blu-ray, an Xbox 360 with HD DVD drive, and now I get it all in one? ‘Tis life I guess.

I heard Blu-Ray is crap lol. It was from some dude who worked in a center where they put. . . I forget what it is he worked on but he said they can hold a lot of info but once it has the smallest problem like a scratch the information is unretrievable. I asked about it once the PS3 was released.
