BlackBerry Curve Gallery

Did you know that our #1 request in regards to the BlackBerry Curve has been comparison photos with the BlackBerry Pearl? If you didn’t know, the BlackBerry Curve was officially announced today, thus ending our NDA. Without further delay, take a look at some of the shots to let you really get a feel for how perfect this device is. I don’t care if you love SureType, this one might just been too good to pass up on. Also can we get a running count of how many people will either return their BlackBerry 8800 and buy a BlackBerry Curve, or purposely havn’t bought a BlackBerry 8800 knowing that your good friends at BGR told you about a newer, and sleeker device. In addition to our continued BlackBerry Curve coverage here, BlackBerryCool has managed to snag some hands-on pics as well. Check them out too!

Click on over here to see our new gallery featuring the BlackBerry Curve, in all compromising positions.

I purposely waited for the 8800 to come out before buying the Pearl. Thanks to BGR, I waited even longer for the 8300 with a smaller form factor and better keyboard. Thank you BGR!!!!!!

This looks like the offering that will pull me from sprint. I do not have a need for the iPhone with this announcement.

Count me as another tally in the “held off on 8800 because 8300 was in the works” column.

    I’m getting twitchy, I need a new BB soon…

I bought myself an 8800c because I didnt honestly know that the “Curve” was coming out. But besides a spaced keyboard, and 2MP camera with no WiFi, its not worth another $500 bucks (guesstimate). And come someone really tell me, what would even the purpose of a Blackberry with Wifi be? We all love our crackberrys but the browser isnt that good to need Wifi. No mobile browser is.

I dunno, BG. IIRC, you had a post a while ago saying that there was going to be an 8300 model with wifi and gps. If that’s still the case, then I’m willing to pass on this one. In reality, I’m waiting/hoping for a 3g Blackberry or 2nd generation iPhone with a different form factor and 3g to hit CIngular sometime in 2007.

    Keep up the good work!

I have been waiting since the first announcement of the 8300 (nee Curve), and waited, and waited…Unfortunately, I think I will still be waiting. My main concern was having a device with WiFi (which makes web-viewing and downloads noticeably faster), and if this is going to be lacking from the Curve, then I can wait some more…(as you can see, I’m a little dissapointed)

With T-Mobile to soon start pushing their wifi cell phone service probably they will be getting the wifi variant of this and the 8800 when they roll that plan out.

BG do you know if the 8300 will have hot-swapping for the microSD card? On the 8300 website it mentions that it will but people have said this is not the case. Thanks,

    Keep up the great work!!

I already commented by but I will comment again. It seems that most everyone is waiting for the all mighty device that will include finally WIFI and GPS. It appears real clear to me that that is what the people here what so I keep wondering why RIM continues to take out these models lacking the only things that most of us what to have. The device is out there! BGR even made a review of it with wifi enabled

I think that I will wait for the T-Mobile version scheduled for June (according to my T-Mobile sources). That is the 8300 model that will have WiFi. It’s all part of the “Master” plan. That plan being T-Mobile’s UMA rollout; remember the “T-Mobile at Home” trial currently going on. It is my understanding they plan on rolling it out this summer. The 8300 with WiFi, is the PERFECT device to introduce it Nationally.

    MoMo says:

As has been stated before. There may never be the ultimate Blackberry, cause just when you think you’ve it, there will be something better already in the works.

They don’t want to lose the potential 8800 customers, they refrain from adding GPS capabilities on the Curve. One phone with GPS and the other with a camera. Wi-Fi may get added to TMO, since we’ve seen from this site that it could have the capabilities. Until they announce it, I’m not expecting it until the next device. We’ll probably see a phone with GPS, WiFi and phone next year and then eventually be able to video record and then there’s 3G.

    Boy Genuis:

I really need your help on this, as you have worked with the 8300 prototype for some time.

I have been looking at other phones that are non BB, phones that have a dedicated dial pad and a qwerty keyboard. I have been using my 8700 for a year and I love everything about it, except when I am ready to dial a phone number I have to be ever so careful and basically use my fingertip. It is not as bad as the Treo 650 I had but it does get on my nerves. Is the dial pad or keys a little better on the 8300 so that dialing a number is a little better than on the 8700. It does not have to be much better, just a little better in terms of spacing and shape of keys and I will stay with the BB. Please help me with this because I desperatly want tp stay with the BB and not go to a nokia or HTC

I switched to a 8800 from my 8700 because it was acting up, but it was the best 8700 while it lasted. Thank goodness I have a friend that works at cingular so that I can get a good deal and no hassle about not being eligible for any upgrade yet! I cant wait for this phone to come out, this seriously has to be the best phone I am ever going to own! If the 8800 would have had a camera, I would have said the same. So release date anyone?
