BlackBerry Curve to be announced at WES 2007

Thanks to one of our great inside sources for confirming this story, it appears our witty sniffers were 100% correct. You heard it first on BGR – the next BlackBerry device, set for a release in May, will be called the BlackBerry Curve. I personally think it’s a rather rudimentary name with horrible branding abilities (insert countless jokes here), and how will this play out with the different model variations of this series remains uncertain. The BlackBerry Curve will be announced at RIM’s Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2007, held May 8th through May 10th in Orlando, FL. I’m sure everyone is already beyond the point of confusion with the BlackBerry 8300 and the BlackBerry 8320 and the BlackBerry 8330 and the BlackBerry 83xx, but one tidbit of knowledge that might help ease your mind and any confusion that has started to manifest from Waterloo is the release of this device will be on AT&T and T-Mobile in the May launch month, with Rogers on board north of the border.
P.S. RIM has removed the redirect on the BlackBerry8300.com website. It no longer points to www.BlackBerryCurve.com, atleast for now.

Cingy & T-Mo?! That makes my day. Going down to my T-Mo store and requesting that my name be put on a list later today, thanks as always for the info, BG.
You’re killing me BGR! Can’t decide if I should jump ship and go with the 83xx or stay with Verizon and get the 8830?!?
Any idea which version will be on AT&T BG?
Is Curve another name for 8300 series?
Nevermind, just saw the article below :/
I thought that this was going to be a ‘World Phone’, and therefore would be going out to CDMA Carriers such as Verizon in the US, and Telus up here in Canada, or is there another 83xx model coming out at the same time for both Verizon and Telus?
I’m not following – what 8300 series, do you mean 8800??
You are correct. The 8830 will be coming out for Verizon at about the same time as this 8300 series. (calvsams, yes, they are two different devices)
Any idea on pricing?
Is it going to be more expensive than the 8800?
8800 is already pretty pricey.
Any knowledge of which versions are gonna be hitting which carriers? I definitely want the one with WiFi……..I’d guess that this would be all over T-Mobile and their UMA thingy service…….but I hope it will be on cingy too (*CROSSES FINGERS MAJORLY*)
Wrong again. Can you say SPIN?
It will be much earlier.
Hey. So is this ‘curve’ gonna have the camera that was supposed to be coming on the 8300/daytona? Anyone know? Otherwise what’s new about it other than spell check? I can’t stand the pearl. Got it for the camera, but the two letters on one key feature was so annoying that I’m back on my 8700. Anyone have any more info or know of threads with extra details?
Can we start a phone addict support group?
Does anyone know when Rogers will have this device availabe in Canada?
This is awesome, I am going to T mobile to put myself on the waiting list. I wish it also came to Verizon because the 8830 keys are bad campared to the new Curve.
Will Curve have Cingular broadband support?
Do we have a date yet? Did they have a model of the curve at WES? I’m going nuts checking Blackberrycurve.com for when it will be released. Help me Mr. Genius… Help Meeeee!!!
I heard that the curve will probably be released in june w/ rogers
Confused… are the Curve and the Daytona two separate devices? Will both be made available at some point?
Do we know yet if Verizon will make a similar model to the Curve? They are not giving us any information, stating it doesn’t measure up to their standards…yeah, right!!!
IS SPRINT GETTING THE CURVE. WHEN IS IT COMING?????????
Any updates for VZW???
I like the 8130, but I miss my QWERTY keyboard soooo much.
BGR, anything from the VZW Ninja?
Yeah I wanna know if Sprint is getting the Curve as well before I go ahead and buy the 8830 World Series one….
