BlackBerry 8300 = BlackBerry Curve?

Well, low and behold, in the long wait for more and more information to trickle in about the BlackBerry 8300, it appears that we have a formal name for the device’s release. In spirit of the BlackBerry 8100 having a consumer-friendly alias with the BlackBerry Pearl, the BlackBerry 8300, which is set to merge the business and consumer worlds of BlackBerry, is apparently named the BlackBerry Curve.
www.BlackBerry8300.com, which was recently purchased by RIM from private holdings, now redirects to www.BlackBerryCurve.com, although it’s nothing more than a blank placeholder page. The new website’s domain record reflects that of Register.com, Inc., RIM’s domain registrar of choice. The DNS redirect would not be possible without RIM’s authorization, so I think it’s safe to assume this as the new name. I kind of like it. Now, who thinks that RIM will announce the BlackBerry 8300 or BlackBerry Curve at WES 2007? I sure do.
Thanks, MiBlackBerry!

Does anyone know if T-Mobil is getting the BB Curve? A few weeks ago a sales rep told me they were getting it any day but I haven’t seen any sign of it yet? After reading all of this…I want the Curve!
SPRINT,
THIS MESSAGE IS FOR YOU
I am on the verge of walking out to AT&T just because they have a better business tool – BlackBerry Curve – despite the fact that they don’t have a better network.
I have been a loyal Sprint customer for 8 years and have been now without a contract extension for last two months. I will give you until Thanks Giving to introduce Curve – after that I will have no choice but to take my $150 per month consumption to AT&T.
Hope you react soon!!!!
I am with sprint and have the 8703 Blackberry, which I love. That was until I laid my eyes on the Curve! Lighter more compact, yet the keyboard size is still the same. I want this in the worst way on SPRINT ASAP!!! Otherwise, I’ll be leaving like most everyone else will who wants a device like this.
At&t has the iphone and Curve. It’s just not fair business practice. So much for fair competition in the wireless world.
Damnit!!! i want this thing for sprint to. i have the 8703 and like it but my friend just got the curve on at&t and i am SOOOOOO JEALOUS!!! this thing is awesome. they have been supposedly testing for a long time now, just announce it already either we are getting it or we are not !!!!!!
Guys,
Screw Sprint together with Nextel…….
T-mobile just released the Curve and it has
wi-fi. So now you have two choices, AT&T &
T-mobile. I’m sure Verizon will follow, sorry Sprint you may have a great network and good plans but your phones suck big time!!!!!!
Everyone you all are dumb for not making the switch sooner. I have had a treo, blackberry 8703e, and now the Curve. The curve is by far the best phone I have ever had.I had Sprint and I cancelled my plan paid 2 early termination fees but worth it for sure. Sprint step up to the plate. AT&T Rules. Everyone should switch.
Good Luck Everyone!
I emailed Sprint, and they said that they WILL offer the Curve, but an exact date hasn’t been set. So, my guess is early 2008 sometime.
Demi, Do you have a copy of the email Sprint sent you about offering the Curve? I have called, and they have told me no information is available on offering the Curve. For Chirs R., you are Dumb for paying 2 termination fees, paying more for wireless service on a network that is not as reliable, no matter what their commercials say.
I had called Spint yesterday, they said they would be offering it the first week of November. I then asked him how much (was put on hold again for 2 mins) He said $549.
Sprint may be reliable, but they lie lie lie about extending the contract. I was a loyal customer for 1000 years, and then added minutes, only to find out months later that meant I had extended the contract for 2 years. No one from Sprint ever told me that, and when I called to inquire — they couldn’t have been ruder. So I paid early term fee in protest and signed up with ATT. As luck would have it.. the Curve released not too long after and I bought one — cheap — and couldn’t be happier. Now I’m just waiting for Sprint to hoist on its own petard.
This is crazy. I was in the store last week and was told it would be this week. I called the store back today and they acted like I was crazy and told me they had no idea “if” they were getting it. And this was supposed to be a team lead that I was speaking with.
I am so very frustrated with Sprint!!!!
I gotta have this phone all this talk is driving me insane i think im going to just have to switch carriers…

A Sprint In-Store Rep in NYC actually advised me to wait until mid-November (before Black Friday) when the Curve will be available for purchase. I guess we’ll see …
is there any time frame for the curve to be released with Sprint or updates as to the time frame???
Wait I heard Sprint wasn’t going to get the curve, are they? Does anyone know the truth please let me know?

Anyone know about the Curve 8320 WIFI and VERIZON (or any version of the Curve for that matter)??? Verizon reps haven’t been able to tell me a thing. Can’t believe that an industry leader like Verizon does roll out the Curve first…unbelievable.
I’m starting to consider a switch if they continue without this line…
Anyone know anything about this?
I’m with t-mo and this is my 5th blackberry… It is the best phone i have ever had, the wi-fi and uma calling are awesome. its size is better than the 8700 or 8800. it does pix, and you can rip full dvd’s, on a 1 gig card i can fit 7 dvd’s plus music, pix, documents, ringtones, etc I recently recieved a windows mobile device thought i would try it out… i’m back to the curve. best phone i have ever had
