BlackBerry 8300 = BlackBerry Curve?

Well, low and behold, in the long wait for more and more information to trickle in about the BlackBerry 8300, it appears that we have a formal name for the device’s release. In spirit of the BlackBerry 8100 having a consumer-friendly alias with the BlackBerry Pearl, the BlackBerry 8300, which is set to merge the business and consumer worlds of BlackBerry, is apparently named the BlackBerry Curve.

www.BlackBerry8300.com, which was recently purchased by RIM from private holdings, now redirects to www.BlackBerryCurve.com, although it’s nothing more than a blank placeholder page. The new website’s domain record reflects that of Register.com, Inc., RIM’s domain registrar of choice. The DNS redirect would not be possible without RIM’s authorization, so I think it’s safe to assume this as the new name. I kind of like it. Now, who thinks that RIM will announce the BlackBerry 8300 or BlackBerry Curve at WES 2007? I sure do.

Thanks, MiBlackBerry!

Verizon will not carry this….it’s just a T-mobile & Cingular carried device….at least when it first comes out….much like the Moto Q, they will release it to others after the first 6 months I’m sure..

I will be getting a curve in the morning. I just got a pearl two weeks ago and have some problems with the ringtones, so I am upgrading. When I talked to the store they told me that they had the curves in.

Anyone know how to get out of a Sprint contract without paying the penalties? I really don’t want to have to wait until the 1st of January to cancel it…Help!

Finally broke down and bought the Curve and I could not be happier! It is an awesome device. This is my third BB and it does not disappoint. I was hoping the phone service would be better on this one than my last and it is remarkable. I don’t even want to use my razor anymore for a phone. I thought it would be difficult to get used to the trackball – after one day, it was a piece of cake. The camera and video are quite remarkable too. Beautiful picture quality. Too much good to say – great job RIM.
