AT&T 8525 Firmware Available

The long awaited firmware update we told you about months ago, is finally here for the AT&T 8525. This ROM updates the phone to allow Push-To-Talk, Cingular Video, Blackberry Connect, and many bug fixes. It’s available as a free download, and takes about 25 minutes to install. As with any firmware upgrade, make sure to have constant power to the device, so you don’t brick the phone, and have everything backed up.

If you want BB Connect, you have to either

    1) Call up at&t and for it. Or,
    2) ask your BES Admin for it.

@ eli: Even if it didn’t work on 3G, it should still fall back on the 2G (EDGE) network to deliver the email. Don’t hold me to this, but this is what I’ve been told numerous times…
