AT&T pulls CU500v, web guy loses job

In a rather stunning move AT&T appears to have botched the release of the LG CU500v, on the heels of the N75 snafu just a few short hours ago. This innovative handset, at least by American standards, is Cingular’s first entry into the video calling market, albeit a slightly crippled one. The phone launched this morning on the company’s public site, advertising the phone for $29.99 with a 2-year agreement. Obviously it appears to have been released prematurely, however, as the Cingular site is now showing a "Temporarily Out Of Stock" badge. Someone in AT&T’s web division is going to lose their job today. Any bets on when either of these phones will really be available? Come on, AT&T!

Imahottguy, it’s not nice to bash people over their choice of carrier. T-Mobile is the better choice for some people, even if not for you.
