Steve Ballmer loves the HTC Shift

Everyone’s favorite Microsoft CEO has gotten his hands on an HTC Shift and he seems to be pretty impressed. Why wouldn’t he be? Ballmer showed off his new favorite UMPC during an interview in Germany, and had nothing but good things to say about the device itself, as well as the UMPC form-factor in general. Referring to the unit as a "Full PC in a very small form-factor" (Nice one, Steve!), he demonstrates the HTC Shift’s smooth slide out keyboard, and touts its VoIP and data applications. Nothing revolutionary in terms of new information, but the HTC unit looks as sexy as ever, and it’s nice to have something to hold us over until the worldwide release this summer.

I don’t understand why people are getting so excited about the HTC Shift when devices like the Sony UX’s and the OQO’s have been available for quite a while now.

Genuine question, What can the Shift do that the oQo can’t or doesn’t? I get the feeling that this unit is somewhat larger.

Yep, it’s bigger, and thats the point.
7 inch screen and wider keyboard makes it easyer for allroung computing…

    I have used 4, 5, 7 and 8.9 inch screen mobile computers and i’d say 7 inch is just the right for me. ( I would prefer 1024 x 600, but u can’t have all )

Yes oqo is smaller but without touch, with via cpu it’s not for me..
